July 4, 2011 - SV Bibby Tethra, a 27.5 m purpose-built semi-SWATH coastal survey vessel, is the first Dynamic Positioning boat in Europe equipped with the Twin Disc QuickShift® MGX-516 DC transmission system and the EC300DP Power Commander® electronic control system.

The vessel provides an exceptionally stable working platform and offers a number of unique features for a vessel of this size, including Dynamic Positioning (DP1), dual propulsion systems and comfortable air-conditioned accommodation for up to sixteen people.

Intended to serve as the operations of seabed mapping and geophysical studies for the company Osiris Projects of Liverpool in England, it will be especially dedicated to underwater surveys for installation of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

Started in 2010 at the shipyard of Saint Malo Socarenam, SV Bibby Tethra was completed in six months to Boulogne and entered service in May 2011.
